What seeds are you planting this spring?

Today is the Spring Equinox and I used this journaling prompt (from a class by Effy Wild) in my morning journaling to reflect on where and what I want to grow this year, so I can make sure I plant the seeds to start the process of making my plans and dreams happen. I find taking stock every now and then of “where I am” to be a really helpful exercise. All you need is paper and something to write with, and maybe a cup of tea or coffee. Calm your mind, and just write whatever pops into your head when you ask yourself what you want grow this year, and what seeds you can plant that will grow and blossom in your life.

What seeds am I planting? What do I want to grow this year?

This year I am planting and growing some seeds of change. I want to live a more creative life. I want to live more fully and intentionally, and I want to move towards what my spouse calls our “what’s next” phase.

I am planting seeds to help lead me there.

Some of my seeds began during the pandemic. Almost exactly two years ago I completed my training to become a SoulCollage® Facilitator. I have been gathering and nurturing the “seeds” to start a creative business: taking some additional courses, working with my peers, and building a plan and this website so I can begin offering SoulCollage® classes and workshops.

Another “big” seed is moving to a new home. We have been “just looking” at condos for a couple of years, to see what’s out there and think about where we want to live and eventually retire. But we unexpectedly found exactly what we were looking for, so “in a couple of years” became “this year”.

This change in season from winter to spring is a great time to reassess any resolutions or goals you set in January. Remind yourself about goals you still want to pursue, but haven’t started working towards. Decide whether the goals you set for this year still resonate. And remember that there is nothing “magical” about January 1st – you can decide to set brand new goals or new and targets now.

Plant some seeds of possibility, and let them grow.
