Creative Journals: your journal, your way
There are many forms and styles of “creative journaling”, and most involve some combination of words and images – but that’s not a “rule”, and I would argue that any kind of journal-keeping is creative in some way. Some “creative journals” are mostly or all writing, and at the other end of the spectrum there are art journals with minimal or no text included at all.
A creative journal is a way to express yourself and explore your creativity.
Creative journals can be used for a gratitude practise, for keeping lists, for recording song lyrics, poems or quotes, and as a place to try out fancy lettering.
Creative journals can be “decorated” by using colourful pens to write with, adding washi tape and stickers, drawing borders, or glueing in images.
It can be a place to capture and focus ideas, and a space for reflection. Journaling prompts and exercises can help you clarify and set goals.
Creative journals can be a place for recording memories and chronicling your days.
The possibilities are endless.
